Description/Job Summary

This position requires daily interaction with truss design and sales. This person should act as the link between 84 lumber store sales staff, the Component Plant and the Team Headquarters staff. In addition, the successful candidate may have daily contact with builders, building designers and architects. The position is an all encompassing role that will insure the accuracy of delivered product, pricing, and design efficiency.

This job will also require:

  • Maintain a weekly store visit schedule and action plan Component designing and pricing (submittal packages)
  • Service the 84 Lumber stores (field measurements, review drawings, job qualification, field issue resolution.)
  • Work with 84 Lumber and 84 Component staff to develop new sales
  • Ability to interpret building plans and communicate construction details from the customer to the sales and design team - utilizing construction documents, as well as gathering accurate information obtained during site visits. 
  • Provide truss placement plans and engineering details back to the customer and his representatives – ensuring accuracy of the final component products and increased customer satisfaction.

Required Skills

  • Ability to design layouts and truss drawings
  • Able to read and write in their primary language.
  • Able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Able to read a shop drawing.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints
  • Provide layouts and truss drawing designs 

Required Experience

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or 1 to 3 months related experience and/or training.
  • 2 to 5  years experience in truss design
  • Provide layouts and truss drawing designs
