A family in Belle Vernon and Farmington, Pennsylvania are seeking a full time experienced Houseman for their residences. The ideal candidate should be extremely detail-oriented, have strong knowledge of groundskeeper duties, and a proactive attitude towards keeping the properties in pristine order. Besides comprehensive houseman duties, the candidate will be able to assist in the overall running of the household as well as keeping inventories up to date. Experience with the slack app and Google docs is a plus.
Maintaining day-to-day operation of the residence
Providing excellent service to principals and all guests
Acting as household handy-man and assisting with facilities and household maintenance tasks
Acting as the gatekeeper for principals; liaising with staff as well as vendors and contractors
Overseeing vendor calendars and providing prior notification to the family and Director of residents of estate maintenance/repair activities
Conducting inventory and procuring household supplies.
Hands-on houseman duties
Maintaining all indoor and outdoor facilities; includes fleet of vehicles, pool, ballroom, spa, gym, garage, wine cellars, elevator, etc.
Driving principals dogs to and from engagements
Handling special requests, errands, and related duties as needed
Strong communication with House Manager and Director of Residences
This is a full-time position, for the time being, the family requires the hired candidate to Live-in 3 weeks to quarantine in the property, with 1 week off (Live-out). Salary is generous but DOE.
Superb command of the English language, both written and verbal
Excellent computer skills; includes Word, Outlook, Excel, Internet, slack and e-mail
Knowledge of complex house systems (lighting, heating and cooling, security) including Smart Home systems (i.e. Kaleidoscope, Nest, Google Home, etc.)
Utmost sense of confidentiality and discretion
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience with longevity in previous positions
Previous experience in a large, fine home with a large team of staff
Minimum High school or equivalent degree
Outstanding references from both current and previous employers
Flexible schedule with availability to work overtime, nights, and weekends as needed
Exceptional organizational skills and dedication to responsibilities; willing and able to take direction well
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Valid driver’s license
Legally able to work in the United States
Must be willing to submit to a background check: criminal/financial
Willing to participate in random and pre-employment drug testing
